Seeking The Elusive

This song started life many years ago, written for a music brief about travel. I think it was a competition, maybe through Vimeo, asking for something inspired by the idea of travelling. At the time, the original version felt more cautious, quieter, less sure of itself. But coming back to it now, something clicked.

The new version feels like it’s finally found its voice. It’s cinematic, electronic, and a little bit pop. Lyrically it’s about the kind of journey that isn’t always physical. It’s about the space between where you were and where you’re going. Searching for meaning, for people, for some kind of place that feels right, even if you’re not exactly sure what you’re chasing.

Seeking The Elusive Lyrics

Early morning at the station
All aboard the elusive fast train
searching for the path to righteousness.
Hope is frail but still exists,
that's all that we can ask of it
as we're searching
as we're seeking the elusive.

Seeking beauty.
Seeking friends.
As we are travelling,
travelling again.
Fear the fortune
of the life before you.
And take the long route
when you're searching for home.

Early morning at the station,
all aboard the elusive fast train
heading anywhere.
Into mist of the dawn
We’re not sure what we’re running from.
But hope is holding on.

As we are searching,
as we are seeking
Seeking beauty.
Seeking friends.
As we are travelling,
as we are travelling again
Fear the fortune
of the life before you.
And take the long route
when you're searching for home.

Early morning at the station
All aboard the elusive fast train
Searching for the path to righteousness.
Hope is frail but still exists,
that's all that we can ask of it
as we're searching…
as we're seeking the elusive.
